About MakeTimestamp
Our Mission
Time is hard—but converting it shouldn't be. MakeTimestamp exists to give developers and data teams a lightning-fast, zero-dependency way to translate between Unix epoch seconds and human-readable dates, across any time zone.
Our Story
MakeTimestamp started as an internal tool in 2024 after we grew tired of googling "unix timestamp to date" every day. A weekend project quickly snowballed into an open, sharable converter used by thousands of engineers worldwide.
How It Works
The site runs entirely in your browser—no data is ever sent to our servers. We leverage native JavaScript Date
utilities and Intl APIs to guarantee accurate conversions even for historical dates or leap seconds.
Why MakeTimestamp
- Blazing Fast: Conversion happens instantly—no page reload, no API calls.
- Time-Zone Aware: Switch between local time and UTC with a single click.
- Open Source: Key logic is MIT-licensed on GitHub for full transparency.
- Privacy First: All calculations stay on your device; we collect zero data.
